Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Provides Financial Support

April 15, 2013

We just heard that we have been awarded a grant from the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods (DON). This grant is for a design/community engagement process and will take about ten months to implement.

Now, more than ever, we need volunteers! The Steering Committee is planning a Grant kick-off meeting in early May. It is not too late to join the steering committee. From that meeting we will produce a time line and share the details with all of you.

We will interview and hire a landscape architect. The architect will work with a permaculturist to suggest plants and trees that will work well for the neighbors and the environment. We will then host three public meetings so the architect and our immediate community can discuss what design will best meet the needs of the neighborhood.

Stay tuned!
